About
Welcome! I’m Lisa, the founder and creator of PrimoRecipes.com, where I share family-friendly recipes inspired by my Italian roots and my life as a mom in New York. Food has always been a huge part of my life, from childhood dinners filled with homemade pasta to the everyday chaos of getting dinner on the table for my own family. Between balancing life with my husband, our daughter Sophia, and our golden retriever Max—who firmly believes every meal is made for him—cooking in my kitchen is always an adventure.
I grew up in an Italian-American household, where the kitchen was the heart of everything. Sundays meant a house filled with the smell of simmering sauce, plates of pasta, and my grandmother insisting I eat just a little more. Now, as a mom with a busy schedule, I’ve learned that home-cooked meals don’t have to be complicated to be delicious. That’s why I created PrimoRecipes.com—a place where you’ll find top-quality, easy-to-make recipes that bring families together, whether it’s a quick weeknight dinner, a nostalgic comfort meal, or a dish that feels fancy but is actually simple.

Why “Primo Recipes”?
“Primo” is a word that’s deeply tied to my heritage. In Italian, “primo” means first or best, and in Italian cuisine, it refers to the primo piatto, the first course of a meal, usually pasta, risotto, or soup. Growing up, these dishes were the heart of our family gatherings, and I wanted a name that reflected that same warmth and tradition.
At PrimoRecipes.com, “primo” represents more than just Italian roots—it stands for top-quality, go-to recipes that are simple, approachable, and full of flavor. Whether it’s a quick weeknight meal, a nostalgic family favorite, or a dish that feels fancy but is actually easy, my goal is to make sure you always have a “primo” recipe to turn to.
What You’ll Find on PrimoRecipes.com
At PrimoRecipes.com, I focus on family-friendly recipes that bring people together around the table without the stress. Whether you’re looking for quick weeknight dinners, classic comfort food, or something a little indulgent, you’ll find something for every craving.
If you have a sweet tooth, these Strawberry Cheesecake Cookies are soft, rich, and bursting with flavor. But if you’re in the mood for a cozy, homemade pasta dish, my Philly Cheesesteak Tortellini Pasta is packed with creamy, cheesy goodness and all the flavors of a classic cheesesteak.
For a fun, kid-friendly lunch, this Waffle Sandwich Recipe is a creative and delicious twist on a classic. And if you need a quick and hearty dinner, try my Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles—a savory, umami-packed dish that comes together in just 30 minutes.
Whether it’s breakfast, dinner, or dessert, every recipe on PrimoRecipes.com is tested in my own kitchen and, more importantly, approved by my family. If it’s not simple, delicious, and worth making again, it doesn’t make it onto the site.
What You Won’t Find Here
I don’t do fussy, complicated meals that require obscure ingredients or hours of prep. If you can’t find it in a regular grocery store, I’ll give you a substitute.
I also don’t believe in food snobbery. If you love boxed cake mix, store-bought pie crust, or seasoning things “until it feels right,” we will get along just fine. Cooking should be fun, not stressful.
And you won’t find overly staged, perfect-looking food photography here. My kitchen is real, my family is always hungry, and sometimes I forget to take a photo before we dig in. This is a space for real home cooks who just want great food without the pressure of perfection.
A Little More About Me
If I had to pick one food to eat forever, it would be pasta, preferably drowning in Parmesan. My fridge always has a dedicated cheese drawer, and I firmly believe that no recipe has ever suffered from adding more garlic.
When I’m not in the kitchen, I’m probably reading about food, testing new recipes, or reminding my kids that crackers are not a full meal. I love cooking, but I don’t love baking because it requires too much precision—though that doesn’t stop me from making dessert anyway.
Let’s Cook Together
If you love family-friendly recipes that taste amazing but don’t take all day, PrimoRecipes.com is for you. Whether you’re looking for quick dinners, nostalgic comfort food, or homemade Italian-inspired meals, my goal is to help you cook with confidence and enjoy every bite.
Cooking isn’t about perfection—it’s about making something delicious and sharing it with the people you love. So grab a spatula, make a mess, and let’s get cooking.
